Bill Kerr 28/11/1924 - 04/01/2024

One of our Life Members Bill Kerr passed away overnight, peacefully at home, in his sleep. Just missing out for membership of our very rare 100 club.

We were represented at his funeral on 22nd January by Keith Underhill (Family), David Jeffery and Rick Purnell.

We all send our thoughts and condolences to both Jane and Keith Underhill and their family.

Bill joined our club as a fully fledged Life Member back in 2016 and until ill health prevented him doing so, he always made our meetings with Keith acting as his chauffeur.

Bill saw action in WW2 as a flight engineer with two memorable events coming to mind, being part of the liberation parachute drops and taking part in the Berlin Airlifts.

In his early career, with Silverline Airways, he masterminded the first Ro-Ro airplane for passengers with car travelling to Europe.

He had many another tale to tell too.

An easy going, kind, interesting and incredible gentleman, we miss you, Bill.

RIP.
